Black Snow Bunny

Happy Friday!

Let’s make the winter fun! As the snow falls and there seems to be less to do, I need some excitement. So when all else fails, I put the excitement in wardrobe. I have to admit that I have not been as excited as I have in these past few months about dressing up. Actually, my arthritis has been kicking my behind. But I’m trying to get my “jooj” back…is that how how you spell it? (Hunches shoulders), oh well!

I’m pretty much a big fan of fur so I thought it would be pretty fun to do a four part series on how to wear fur pieces. The first is this fur stole. When you think of fur stoles surely you think of a glamorous era in time, perhaps the 40s when people really got dressed up to go out. Well all the pieces of this look revolve around this stole. I added a glamorous black dress, a crystal statement necklace, my favorite faux diamond studs and a sequin clutch for extra glam! It’s Friday so I’m cutting out of here to enjoy it so let me know what you guys think! Hopefully you can get an idea or two for whatever party you’re going to!

Lazy Days 2016

Yep! Lazy days again. It’s the middle of summer and I celebrated my anniversary this past weekend. Last year, I had my lazy day very late into summer, in August. The day we shot that, a small tragedy struck. This year, after celebrating, I just wanted to relax and look good while doing it. I bought a coral maxi dress a few years back and I’m just getting around to wearing it. I thought it would be the perfect piece in my wardrobe to wear for a day to relax.

It’s that girly “time” for me, that all of us girls love (shameless sarcasm) and I didn’t feel like heels or a lot of extra details. Usually, I like to do more reading for some reason. I chose to grab my large straw bag for dumping comfort and essentials in. This bag is so roomy I can just load up on healthy snacks, water and the rest of my reading materials. I tied a scarf around my high bun for an extra touch. My accessories are pretty simple, hoop earrings and charm bracelets inspired by the ones you see at Alex and Ani. I’m wearing simple black flat sandals for another layer of comfort. You can literally do so many things with this look. I ran errands, got some work done and relaxed the rest of the day (with some more working in between of course lol). How do you dress on lazy days?

Urban Runway

I’ve a bit uninspired partly due to this tragically bland weather we call winter. (Insert eye roll) Beyond being too cold to garner the gusto to get out, I’m just ready to wear sandals and summer maxi dresses. I miss curly hair and lighter hair color… I could go on and on. In order to grasp a teeny bit of spring, I grabbed a bright, bold colorful scarf from Target.

I wore the scarf in a Rosie the Riveter kind of way. I added hoops to emphasize the “casualness” of the look. My outfit is pretty casual anyway but I added extra “leather” to create a bit of an edge so the look isn’t basic. Nothing wrong with jeans and a tee but that wasn’t the goal here. Since the look is so casual and edgy, I decided against a handbag of any sort.

I’m finding inspiration in the cityscapes and surroundings in the city so my muse was a gritty but “tattooed” alley. I felt this alley was perfect as my runway. It had been years since I’ve seen actual alley cat but I saw one this alley. A true sign of vitality in the area. Anyhoo, the walls of this alley lended the perfect scene around my runway. Check out my catwalk…

Effortless Looks: Casual Friday

This week has been all about effortless looks. We all know we have moments in time where we want to look fabulous but lack the energy to put together a look because it seems like too much work. I’ve shared a couple ways to wear fashionable but complicated free outfits.

In my Aaliyah voice: “it’s Friday!!! Hey!! And I’m ready to hang.” Okay so since this is Friday and we’re all ready to enjoy the weekend, I’ll make this post a quick one. There’s nothing more effortless than a pair of jeans and a tee or tank. Literally you can throw both on and have an automatic outfit!! I decided on a tank to pair with my jeans by PZI. What’s a tank and jeans without a statement necklace? I grabbed the one I’m wearing from Purple Love and I LOVE this necklace!!! I popped on a cropped faux leather jacket I bought on clearance years ago (this was my first time wearing it). Lastly, my shoes are from Missguided and I love them so!! They soften my entire look and add a feminine touch. I opted for arm candy by Layered Chains, a dainty gold bracelet and a knotted gold bangle for some class. My glasses were a gift from a seller on eBay. As always, please share what you think…I enjoy conversation. Until tomorrow…
