Lazy Days 2016

Yep! Lazy days again. It’s the middle of summer and I celebrated my anniversary this past weekend. Last year, I had my lazy day very late into summer, in August. The day we shot that, a small tragedy struck. This year, after celebrating, I just wanted to relax and look good while doing it. I bought a coral maxi dress a few years back and I’m just getting around to wearing it. I thought it would be the perfect piece in my wardrobe to wear for a day to relax.

It’s that girly “time” for me, that all of us girls love (shameless sarcasm) and I didn’t feel like heels or a lot of extra details. Usually, I like to do more reading for some reason. I chose to grab my large straw bag for dumping comfort and essentials in. This bag is so roomy I can just load up on healthy snacks, water and the rest of my reading materials. I tied a scarf around my high bun for an extra touch. My accessories are pretty simple, hoop earrings and charm bracelets inspired by the ones you see at Alex and Ani. I’m wearing simple black flat sandals for another layer of comfort. You can literally do so many things with this look. I ran errands, got some work done and relaxed the rest of the day (with some more working in between of course lol). How do you dress on lazy days?

Grunge Rock Star Behavior

Whew hoo! Somewhat of a spring is finally here!! Remember the age old saying “April showers brings May flowers”? Well it was raining on day two of April without fail. I was hoping the rain would visit only briefly but hope doesn’t always float! Lol. Anyhoo, I dressed for the happy gloom of finally being able to go out without a coat due to temperature but kind of needing one because of constant rain. I opted out of wearing a coat for this outfit. Let me know what you think of my styling this time!

Style Series: (Sweatshirt) Chic

It’s starting to feel like spring!

To me, late winter/early spring is perfect sweatshirt weather. I decided to do a two-part style series showcasing sweatshirts. Sometimes sweatshirts get a bum rap but if styled, they can be very chic. The sweatshirt I purchased is not typical in thickness so layering worked. What I love is the obvious label of “sweat shirt” on the front.   Check out how I styled it and let me know what you think!

In the Mood for “Mints”

I was hesitant at first but I gave into Jewelmint and Shoemint. Yes…I didn’t think that I would EVER be interested in either but we all know the saying: “never say never”. I now have an abundance of Mint products but it was my recent purchases from Shoemint that has me stoked. I purchased Pauline in wine first, as I was immediately drawn to these. I loved the sleek and abnormal design. The color is one that I do not have in my shoe collection. Score! When I received the shoes I was just as happy as when I first saw them on the site, plus I got a free Night Owl necklace with my purchase. The shipping was great and I am a stickler about shipping because I HATE waiting on packages. It was an all around good experience with Shoemint so I decided to make another purchase after I saw a video on YT that showcased yet another pair of Shoemints: the coveted “Edith” in blush. When this shoe came in the mail and I saw them “live” I fell helplessly in love. These shoes are not what I am normally drawn to but I am happy I took a chance. They fit perfect (I’d suggest ordering a full size up), the quality is great and they are comfortable. I saw this shoe on Steve Madden’s website for about $124, so I think for $49.99 these shoes are a steal! I paid $49.99 because I used a coupon code for $30 off. The Shoemint membership is $79.99 a month but you can “skip” a month for free if you’d like. I try to always use a coupon code so I’ve never paid full price for a Mint product. If you like the pics you see, take a peak at Shoemint!
