I’ve had the opportunity to order from Hautelook in the past but I was finally able to score a good deal for American Apparel. I was able to snag a dress and two spaghetti strap bodysuits. Talk about being excited stoked!! I was ecstatic! American Apparel has a basic sexy appeal to me so the pieces that I purchase will be lovely additions to my wardrobe. Thanks Hautelook! Check out the pics and let me know what you think and also if you’ve had any great finds.
I decided to check out Zara online since I’m nowhere near a physical store. I’ve heard about Zara for a couple years now and I finally broke down to experience the hype. So feeling like I entered a new realm of shopping lol, I checked out all that Zara had to offer. There were a few things that caught my eye but one thing in particular stopped me in my shopping tracks. I found a tribal necklace. It was on clearance which made the necklace even more attractive. I purchased the necklace and received it literally two days later. The necklace is very pretty, unique and carries an authenticity to it that is so non-trendy even though the tribal trend is strong nowadays. I was a little disappointed as it came a bit “broken”, nothing that couldn’t be fixed. The point is that I wanted to get an expensive vibe from Zara but I feel like it’s similar to shopping at Macy’s junior department. No shade. I still will shop at Zara and Macy’s in the future, lol. Please check out the pics below and leave input to let me know if you think the necklace has THAT appeal. [slideshow]
I was hesitant at first but I gave into Jewelmint and Shoemint. Yes…I didn’t think that I would EVER be interested in either but we all know the saying: “never say never”. I now have an abundance of Mint products but it was my recent purchases from Shoemint that has me stoked. I purchased Pauline in wine first, as I was immediately drawn to these. I loved the sleek and abnormal design. The color is one that I do not have in my shoe collection. Score! When I received the shoes I was just as happy as when I first saw them on the site, plus I got a free Night Owl necklace with my purchase. The shipping was great and I am a stickler about shipping because I HATE waiting on packages. It was an all around good experience with Shoemint so I decided to make another purchase after I saw a video on YT that showcased yet another pair of Shoemints: the coveted “Edith” in blush. When this shoe came in the mail and I saw them “live” I fell helplessly in love. These shoes are not what I am normally drawn to but I am happy I took a chance. They fit perfect (I’d suggest ordering a full size up), the quality is great and they are comfortable. I saw this shoe on Steve Madden’s website for about $124, so I think for $49.99 these shoes are a steal! I paid $49.99 because I used a coupon code for $30 off. The Shoemint membership is $79.99 a month but you can “skip” a month for free if you’d like. I try to always use a coupon code so I’ve never paid full price for a Mint product. If you like the pics you see, take a peak at Shoemint!
So…I’m not one to follow what everyone else is buying but I must admit that I was quite intrigued when I saw a Youtube video about the Julep Maven program. I’m a polish junkie and I wanted to see how this nail/beauty company added up. I tried the company out and needless to say, I can do without this program. The program consists of paying $19.99 per month and in return, you get nail lacquers and/or hand and foot care products. The products are pretty good, in particular, my fav is the hand glycolic cream. Other than this, I think that you are better off going to Walgreens or CVS and picking up Sinful Colors or going to Sally Beauty and getting OPI and China Glaze. My fav nail polish for a while is made by American Apparel. It’s cheaper than most, you don’t need 2 coats, and the color variety is great! Julep polishes are okay but I tend to think that these NEED two coats, contrary to their claim that you only need one coat. I just think for $19.99, you could get something better![slideshow]
So my obsession at this moment is Sam Edelman’s Lorissa. This shoe is simply a fashion glory! Everyone who loves fashion knows about Lorissa and I wanted to wait until the craze was over before I decided to make the decision to purchase them. I didn’t want to buy them just because everyone else was or because it was trendy, but because I loved the shoe.
I happen to be a person that loves cosmetics and I really love nail polish. My fav brand is ORLY but I love to experiment with other brands. A couple of weeks ago Walgreens had a sale on Sinful Colors polishes so I thought what the heck and I decided to try them. To my surprise, the nail polishes are pretty great for the 99 cents per polish that I paid. I’ll buy some more as soon as there is another sale or maybe not because they are only 1.99 regular priced, lol. Check them out if you’re ever in a Walgreens![slideshow]
So…I decided that I needed a bit of a statement shoe, one that is nothing like I already have. Browsing Aldo shoes website, I found the “for now” lust of my life, lol: the Calcagni wedge. The interesting part is that I ordered them on-line, along with a 10% discount and received them in the mail. Upon receiving them, I noticed something rather interesting. The price of the shoe on the box was $20 cheaper than what is listed on-line. I immediately called the the customer service to find out if this was just the way pricing is at Aldo. The customer service rep was confused and wanted to make sure that I was correct about my finding (which is understandable) and so she checked my order and the price of the shoe on-line. She determined that I should have only paid a gross amount of $100 and not the $120 that I did pay. I was told to send in my receipt and that the difference would be sent back to me. I was elated! Thanks Aldo! Now, on to the REAL review. The shoes are VERY nice and I am so happy that I was able to purchase these. They are truly the statement shoes that I was looking for. The bold red color, hidden wedge and suede material speak volumes!! There also appears to a place to insert a strap that goes around the ankle. I must warn: for those that do not know, Aldo shoes always run a size or two smaller, depending on the shoe. Remember if you want these, order up a size or two. I got a size 40 and I wear a size 7.5 or 8 depending on the maker of the shoe. They are a tiny bit big but the 39 would have been uncomfortable and I’d rather be in shoes a little bit too big than too small. If you are not able to get your hands on this gorgeous shoe, there is a great alternative made by the Luchiny brand. The name of the shoe is the Sur-Fer Wedge in the color red. In fact, there are more colors including blue, gray, tan and camel. Check out my pic and enjoy!!
The new MAC Make Me Over collection was one of the first fall collections that MAC has released this summer. This collection showcases a lot of beautiful colors that are wide arrayed in color. I have yet to see the collection in person but on the website, I fell in love. My fav things are lipsticks and lipglass so that was the first thing that I wanted to see. I was really excited to see the vampydark colors for the fall. I ordered just two lipsticks online and I’m in love! The color lipsticks that I purchased were Prince Noir and Smoked Purple. Both colors are matte but are surprisingly moisturizing, unlike a lot of matte lipsticks. It’s not hard to apply the lipsticks

and the color payoff is wonderful!!! One thing to note is that when I first saw Prince Noir, it immediately made me think of MAC’s lipstick Deepest Wish. The colors are similar, however, Deepest Wish is a tiny bit more brown and slightly lighter in hue than Prince Noir. Deepest Wish is an Amplified Color. Above I have swatches on my hand for show and comparison. Later when I do a makeup look with these lippies, I will note that this is the lipstick color I’m wearing. Enjoy the swatches!
To most people, vacation has become a bit of a habit. Whenever I go on vacation, I feel greatly privileged. On this trip, I realized that my eyes were one of the gifts that I use on a daily basis…only it wasn’t until I got on this trip that I was able to grasp that. What I saw was glorious. I can’t really show in my pics the beauty of the mountains but use your imagination….
